It is always good and inspiring to see a leader who is not afraid to take new initiatives, to stand alone when the need arises, the courage to make tough decision, the compassion to listen to the needs of good, law-abiding citizens and his people; and change the status quo. In Leadership, it is the quality of thinking that gives an edge - an idea that opens new doors, a technique that solves a problem, citizen engagement that is a game changer for development, an insight that inspires and simply helps make sense of it all, which brings a new constellation of planning, direction and tools of empowerment. Governor Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai has shown an exemplary standing in all these areas leading me to believe that my support, and indeed the support of all law abiding and good people of Kaduna State is best placed with him.


Governor El-Rufai believes in consultation and consensus; and embraces intellectualism and works to provide free and quality education to all, while enhancing, engaging and empowering everyone in the State irrespective of one’s religious beliefs, ethnicity or tribe, social class and even political affiliation. The Governor has in the last almost 4 years, epitomized leadership, courage, visionary and cutting-edge thinking in line of infrastructural development in making Kaduna Great; and like all great leaders it was his willingness to confront unequivocally the major anxiety of the people and not much else that was the essence of his leadership: addressing the issue of security and development head on, believing fully that in today’s knowledge economy, the main source of value and competitive advantage is in human and intellectual capital where the main ingredients are education, knowledge, innovation and creativity with utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) . It is based on the aforementioned that, I Dr. Engr. Baba J Adamu, former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on ICT to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and currently the President of Arewa Centre for Regional Development (ACRD) hereby formally endorse Governor Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai for re-Election as Governor of Kaduna State on March 9, 2019; and also call on all our ACRD members across the State and all good people of the State to come out em mass to deliver votes to Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai during the governorship and state assembly elections.


This is the wrong time in Nigerian history for politics as usual: for empty partisanship; for treating citizens simply as members of contending groups; for divisive appeals based on religion, ethnicity, or culture; for efforts to encourage voters to focus on narrow self-interest groups; and for perpetuating the issues and ideologies of an ever-more-distant past. People should know that, now, new times are setting in, Kaduna State and indeed Nigeria and the whole worlds are getting even more complex, yet smaller. There is now even greater demand for leaders with greater courage, vision and godliness to find solutions where nonseems to exist. In our situation, more than at any time before, there is greater need for a leadership with potentials and capabilities to channel the path of economic development and provide the peace and stability required for sustainable economic growth and development; a capable hand who can formulate workable economic policies that can sustain high standards, and provide tools of empowerment to our teeming youths including women.


Finally, I know that the good people of Kaduna State are aware that successful countries today, were those whose citizens, at one time or the other, under strong leadership, rose above personal, sectional or religious differences and worked together to build a viable nation in order to guarantee the development and welfare of its citizens. So therefore, let’s support our elected leaders because we all want a better, safer and developed country – Nigeria. And as northerners, we have a collective duty to reflect that Arewa and indeed Nigeria’s strength is its diversity, elected to bring us together, not to set us against one another and strong because of our differences, not in spite of them. As one entity, we are strengthened in many ways: by our shared experiences, by the diversity that inspires both friends and foes alike and the world, and by the way we treat each other not the way we attack each other because it is both the right thing to do and a certain path to economic development and growth.


Governor Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai is a Man for all Reasons; and all Seasons and like Theodore Roosevelt 1910 said “It is not the critic who counts; nor the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumphs of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat”.


El-Rufai did not come to fill a vacuum; he does not follow where the path may lead’ he goes instead where there is no path and leaves a trail of greatness. You have our collective support and endorsement.
